This was my yard a couple of weeks ago. Now it’s just all too much grass and poison ivy (insert sad face). I miss Spring time already and it’s not even over. These were some of the first days with my new camera, Panasonic Lumix LX100. Can’t say enough goodness about this little beast of
So much fun with one little camera. I’m telling you, once you truly sit down and think about your workflow and your needs, then you will find the proper fitting camera for you. Don’t fall prey to the latest pixel count or sensor size. And interchangeable lens are really just another way to get more
This camera is just way too much fun. And I’m really falling in love with Macro photography. It’s been so long since I’ve had a decent camera that could handle such small subject matter and close-up work. Also, this 1.7 lens really helps. So, today, I was playing around with using some printed backdrops; and
Yeah, this is a seriously shallow depth of field. Just playing around with my new Lumix LX100. Completely rocks for such a small camera. 4K video, amazing photo features, old school ergonomics, tiny size, large chip, good price…can’t say enough good about this one. Don’t be fooled by the DSLR world…just get what you need
It took him a while…nearly 40 years, but he finally solved the problem with his sub-transit temporal confabulator. Or we can just call it a “time gate”, for you and me. It all started as a game when he was a kid. He would build spaceships, gadgets and machines out of any sort of cardboard
Yeah…I used to be MegaMan. Once…a long time ago. Not just once, I mean, I was always MegaMan. I don’t ever really remember a time that I wasn’t MegaMan. Well, I wasn’t called MegaMan when I was a kid…and no, I wasn’t called MegaKid. I was just Jonathan. Not an ordinary kid, but just Jonathan
They scared the be-jeebers out of me the first time I saw them. It was late at night as I was getting up to pee. Slowly stumbling down the hall to the bathroom, everything was dark with only enough light from the windows to allow me to make out the outlines of the doorways and
The screams of terror filled the night shocking him out of his bed. High pitched nightmare screams that could only come from a 6 year old child’s lungs. The word “Daddy” was screamed repeatedly as one long word “daddydaddydaddy” at decibels that almost had the neighbors dialing 911.
…and he told me this mid-drink which I almost spit up. This was when I began to realize, I was in the middle of a professional-drinker-bar-room-whopper. This was going to be the “fishing” story of a lifetime. The one that got away. I hoped and prayed that he was a good story-teller because I liked what I heard so far. Yes, I was in the mood for a seriously good yarn. Fasten your seat belts ladies and gentlemen and keep you hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times.
Check out what I made today. This is based on some stock artwork from my job. We’ve been using the photo image in all our online and print ads, but I needed an animated version for some trade show videos…so I re-created and animated (it’s alive!! ALIVE!!!)…and it’s set-up to loop if needed.
Floating around Smith Mountain Lake in the heart of Virginia. A wonderful weekend with good friends, good food, good weather and a GoPro Hero camera. A special thanks to our gracious hosts, The Cooper Family. Thanks isn’t even enough for what they’ve given us over the last 20 years. We are truly blessed.
So, this seems to be the “Year of the Reunion”. Family, High School, Work…and the 20th IFC Reunion. I got a chance to meet up with some of the past presidents of the Independent Filmmaker’s Coalition last night at our old stomping ground, Harlings (a shit hole of a bar). It was really fun to see what
I’m up way too early getting packed and heading to the airport. Why? Because it’s on again…and this time it’s bigger and better. I’m heading out to Atlanta today for the new revised IPPE trade show. I don’t have any idea what that stands for, but I know it’s a combination of the Poultry Show
After many years of sworn silence the files can now be opened and the untold story…told. My cat was an undercover KGB agent that was surgical altered to fit into a Siamese Cat suit and sent to the USA to spy on us. Why our family, you might ask? It seems that my father was
Have I ever made and kept a New Year’s Resolution? Yeah…a long time ago I made a resolution to never make New Year’s Resolutions. I can honestly report back that after 20+ years I have successfully kept that resolution. Be happy in your skin. And if you aren’t willing and ready to do whatever you
This is me from last year’s IPE trade show in Atlanta…and it was only the first day of setup. It was rather boring for me the first day since the union guys were moving unusually slow, so I thought I’d make use of a shipping blanket and our portable stage (having a hang-over also helped
